Have any of you secretly hoped you could afford liposuction and it would easily solve all of your weight problems? Hey, it's ok, I thought that too. In fact, my doctor was the one who suggested it! I thought maybe some of you would be interested to hear my story. I don't like talking about it; much less admitting at such a young age (21) that I tried this. But, I'm sure that there have to be others out there like me that think they're trying everything and just can't figure out why they won't lose weight. Once the doctor had suggested this option of course I jumped on it! My parents, too, hate admitting they funded this procedure - it's embarrassing for all parties involved. I hate saying to even doctors when they ask, "Any surgeries?" about my liposuction. My parents are appalled that they "let" their baby girl do something so painful. Some of you may be asking yourselves why a person's parents would subject their daughter to this, especially when liposuction clearly sends a young girl the wrong message. However, put yourself in my parents shoes. They saw me working out like crazy, I just recently confessed I had bulemia, I had tried every diet imaginable to lose weight, when I did eat I tried to be healthy, and my doctor had just recommended it because she was as stumped as they were as to why I just kept gaining. My parents required that I saw a therapist for my eating disorder, but they were just as desperate as me to help my piece of my mind. They knew I was down on myself and my heart literally ached because I was so saddened by how large I was getting. They loved me no matter what size I was but they knew I was unhappy and appeared to be trying all the "right" things (aside from the eating disorder). Tomorrow I will share with you what it was like after surgery...
