4/5/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Monday

So I thought I would share the good news with my fellow bloggers...my journal may change for the next several months because I'm pregnant!  We did not tell our extended family until Easter because the doctor had finally given the "thumbs up" that we were 90% in the "safe zone" now.  I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and as of now it looks like it is just one.  In seven weeks we are going to find out the sex of the baby which is very exciting!  If you have read previous blogs of mine this is why I was going through acupuncture.  I was in severe pain from my endometriosis which was growing rapidly as we tried naturally.  My fertility specialist, Dr. Neeo Chin, was INCREDIBLE!  He had us on the "fast track" so that I would be in minimal pain.  The fertility injections I was receiving also increased the level of endometriosis so when I was initially in pain, I thought it was just my regular endo escalating.  Instead, I came to discover that many women with endometriosis are in intense pain when they are first pregnant.  Luckily, after two months of trying we were able to get pregnant...otherwise my doctor was threatening another nine months of medicine to put me into temporary menopause to get rid of the endo.  The past several months certainly have been rough but well worth it in the end I'm sure!  More on this tomorrow...

Breakfast -

3/4 cup of Bran Flakes with 1/4 cup of raisins

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch -

2 slices whole wheat bread with 1 Gardenburger, lettuce, tomato, mustard

Fat-free yogurt

1 cup of strawberries

Snack -


Dinner -

2 oz. Laura's Lean Beef on whole wheat bun

Salad (romaine, tomato, croutons)

Snack -

Skinny Cow

Congradulations Katie.  You are a motivating blogger with great tips, and I know you will make the same dedication to a child.  Enjoy your pregnancy.
